Introduction
Sanskrit is the most ancient language of the world. Its importance, however, is proved throughout the world today. it has happened so not only due to its richness of literature but, also other topics which are interwoven in the language in such a way that they can provide important guidance even today.
They are maxims, logic, trades and commerce, philosophy, navigation, Ayurveda (with disease treatment), garment business and many, other. The better knowledge of Sanskrit language, the richer the education would be Following points are pointed after the study of XIXII Sanskrit syllabus to be included in the new syllabus. It is expected that the students skill should be developed accordingly.

Prose - Poetry collection.
(1) Prose : Around 300 lines (2) Poetry : Around 200 lines.

History
1. History of literature
An introductory history of the following is to be given after the primary summary of sanskrit literature :
(a) Vedas - Upanishads (b) Ramayana - Mahabharata (c) Kalidas - Bhavbhuti (d) Panchtantra.
2. History of Classic works
Introduction of ancient Indian science and technology and a brief primary introduction of the following
(a) Economics - Kautilya (b) Mathametics - Kautilya
Note :-
(1) General Introduction of these subjects is expected, not hte life of author, time, style and questions related to the literature or form of the work. (2) Reference books are to be mentuoned.

Metres :- Anustup, Mandakranta, Malini, Totak
Note : With sanskrit definition (Gujarati as well) and example. of Sanskrit verse.

Figures of Speech :- Upama, Rupak, Arthantarnyasa, Atishayokti
Note : Different types of any figure of speech are not expected. Examples should be given from the textbook. Sanskrit definition of the releted figure of speech is expected.

Translation :- Selected easy and short Sanskrit sentences from the prose poetry of the text book should be given in exercise in simple Gujarati to translate into Sanskrit.

Linguistic :-
1. Four to five chapters are to be included in the textbook that clarify the points related to linguistic speciality.
2. Synonyms of ten to t0welve words.
