Every school will have to conduct any one of the activities from N.C.C., Scout Guide, N.S.S. or Army Training.

The head of the institution may make certain minor changes in the allotment of the periods according to the local need; provided the school employee must not be affected adversely.

Deaf and dumb students will be exempted from the rest of the languages except one higher level language i.e. mother tongue.

The students from abroad may select French, German or Portuguese instead of the Ancient Language Sanskrit.

The schools other General (Commerce and Technical) are exempted from teaching learning of subjects - Arts, Health and Physical Education. Therefore such schools will have to select 1+2=3 from the group of compulsorily for teaching-learning.

It is to be specifically noted that the subject structure and number of periods for teaching-learning in Std. X will be different. From Std. 8 / 9.

Blind students are permitted to exempt from Mathematics in Std. 8 and 9. But in Std. X selecting 7 (Seven) Subjects in total is compulsory.

The schools willing to offer Computer subject from June 1998 in Std-8 can allot 3-4 periods.

In schools other than Gujarati medium mother tongue will be their first language and Gujarati language will be their Second language. A separate- book is prepared for them. Therefore instead of the terms H.L. and L.L., we shall now use the terms first language and second language.
