Artificer Apprentice in Indian Navy
By joining defense forces one gets salary, allowances and other benefits besides a chance to serve the nation, which is more important. To join Indian Navy there are three different choices available. Sailors have an important place in our navy. In our navy machinery, weapons, electronic sensors and other parts are operated and maintained by sailors. These sailors are trained by defense forces. Basic training is given at INS Chilka, Dist. Khurda, Orrissa. There after furthers training is given at different defense force centers all over the country. In Gujarat this type of center is located in Jamnagar , INS Valsura. Selected sailors are sent abroad for training whenever needed. Also, before leaving the navy they are trained for adjusting in normal civic conditions by Pre Release courses. Who can join?
.Direct Entry Diploma Holders (DEDH)
Age : Between 18 to 22, minimum 50% marks, Three year diploma in electronics / telecommunication / aeronautical / ship building / instrumentation engineering / metallurgy from government approved Polytechnic.
.Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Age : Between 15-1/2 to 18 years, minimum 60% in matriculation with science and maths subjects or similar / minimum 60% in HSC exams with physics and maths subjects.
.Metric Entry Recruits (MER)
Age : Between 16 to 19 years, 55% in matriculation with science and maths subjects or similar/ 55% in HSC exams with physics and maths subjects.
Process for Selection
Sailors will be selected as per the merit list after written exams, physical fitness test - PFT and medical examination. Direct entry diploma holders will be interviewed too.
